Disposable Soft Contact Lenses

We at the University Vision Clinic carry all types of contact lenses, including soft disposable. Disposable soft lenses are the most common and popular type, being either daily, two week or monthly disposable.

Daily Disposable Lenses: Are just what they sound like, you throw them away at the end of the day.

Pros: There is no fuss with contact lens solutions, like cleaning or disinfecting. Replacing your contact lenses every day is much healthier for your eye, a brand new lens is much healthier than a "clean" two week or monthly disposable.

Cons: Cost, especially if you wear you contact lenses every day. If you want to wear lenses occasionally, they are much more affordable. Another draw back is that they are not available in all range of powers, nor are they available in the newest soft lens materials.

Two Week and Monthly Disposable Lenses: The most common lens material we use these days is silicone based. Silicone is a very breathable material.

Pros: With a two week or a monthly disposable, we can get virtually any prescription in the lens. Including, toric for astigmatism and multifiocal (bifocal) lenses.

We carry all brands, including Acuvue, Biofinity, Airoptix to name a few.

Cons: These lenses must be cared for, meaning you must clean them upon removal and disinfect them at night with the proper care system. It is very important to follow the directions to avoid any risk of eye infection.
